Youth and the changing Pakistan!

Do we all really know what does the word “Change “means? Have we ever tried to bring any change in our country or even within ourselves? Why are we always dependent on other and expecting they would bring a change while we are busy in maintaining our own life style? We as a youth it is our duty to work for the betterment of the country as the future of a country is always in the hands of the youth. In a country like Pakistan where there is high ratio of youth so it is the responsibility of every individual to make their country prosper, so would it at right to say to say that the youth is the “backbone” of the country? So if the backbone of a country is weak than how can we expect that the country could prosper? And this is what the situation currently is in our beloved country Pakistan. Despite of having such a large number of youngsters and with such hidden talents than don’t you think it is a shameful thing for us? Let’s look back around more than sixty years. Before 1947 do we remember the sacrifices and the bloodshed that that was shed of millions of people just to get this homeland? Have we forgotten those sacrifices? Or we don’t want to remember them? There is a very wide difference between the youth of that time and the present youth, they were very much devoted towards their country. In Pakistan since few years the media has made very strong roots and as a result the people have started depending very much on media, but what I think is the attraction towards media is going in a negative direction. When we are provided with such a strong media as a base to promote ourselves than why not to take it positively? It must be used as a platform for youth to come up with development strategies rather than using it as a medium to be influenced from western culture. Look at the education system of Pakistan .The quality of education provided by a country is directly proportional to the development of the country, better and higher the education rate the better the best youth a country could have. but in Pakistan unfortunately every individual is not being provided with the quality education that they deserve due to one or the other reasons .Media and education system if they both are looked upon and some efforts are made over them we can take our country to the list of developed countries. A nation without education is nothing, it is just like a man without lungs. They can never survive. Educating a nation would in turn decrease many other related issues one of the major issue “birth control” yes in Pakistan this is a very serious issue and still a lot of awareness is to be created as larger the population lesser the resources and lesser the chances of development .This would further lead to “unemployment” and “poverty” and further is leads to wide spread disease and many other problems. Another very crucial issue is that why is it so the educated part of our youth after getting quality education which is already less in number why do they settle in foreign countries? They start serving them .Don’t they think their own country needs them? Why do they always prefer dollars over ruppes? Why don’t they feel that their country needs them? Why is it just the dollars that attracts them? They should at least show some love for their country and should at least give a try to bring some revival. Why do they feel prestige in working as waiters and sales men in foreign countries? Just to get the nationality? And what about the nationality they already have? Lastly talking about the way people have divided themselves as Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Pathan ? This was even said by Quaid that no one amongst us is balcohi, pathan, punabi or a sindhi. Everyone is a Muslim and belongs to one homeland “Pakistan” but we have forgotten every single word of our great leader and this is one of the reason we are facing such a situation. As a concluding note bringing in a change is not the task of a single person .If we are thinking that Imran khan is there to change our current situation than I think we are mistaken. In order to bring a change everyone has to work individually. But yes we can say this that his strategies can at least wake the sleeping youth up.

  5. So many questions and not enough answers! But good questions all the same. Frankly, you need a great deal of power in Pakistan to initiate change at a large level. Supporting Imran Khan is a great way to start since he already has a platform but you're talking about empowering youth which is equally important.
I like what you said about the education system but I think one of the most serious issues in that regard is the age limit and it contributes to poverty and poor economy. I mean, imagine if you could go to university when you're in your 30s and you have the resources you might not have had when you were young! More people would be smarter. You would get more workers and more work. The country would get more money and people would want to stay. There are zero drawbacks!
Take advantage of social media. You say the effects have been negative but why do you say that? Use it positively and effectively. Be a leader.
Point at someone and say "this needs to be done- do it" because you need to shock people out of their roles as bystanders. Pakistan needs an altruistic group of go-getters with a clear, singular goal in mine (like abolishing the age limit on education or promoting birth control) and a solution. Think Arab Spring. Think Kony. All we really need is to want it enough. You have everything else!

  6. I totally agree with your article. Unless we wont change, we cannot bring a change in our leaders. A single leader cannot do anything. As its always said that majority is the authority so people wake up and lets bring a change. Btw Great effort sana!

  7. I agree with this. the youth have to realize how important a catalyst they are in bringing about change. Every era has seen change through the youth and its high time that the youth take up their responsibilities.
