Guard your light and protect it

Youth serves as a backbone of a structure of a nation. The word "youth” imply to young people, who are a part of the current civilization and perhaps involved in contributing to the development and prosperity of a country. In Pakistan, around 63% of the population is concentrated below the age of 25 year. This figure shows the dependency of our state on youth .Pakistani youth aims at giving our beautiful homeland, Pakistan, the place which it deserves in the world. Youth has the potential to rise & prove their name in the world. This is a well known common phrase that “Guard your light and protect it”. In this article, by guarding a light indicates towards protecting your youth and guiding them in a proper way. Youth has a power to bring revolution and revival in Pakistan which will make it more modern, liberal and a democratic country of the world. This can only be done through the freedom of speech, liberty and most importantly when Pakistan only Belongs to Pakistanis. Our youth today are greatly impressed and highly influenced by pop culture which shapes their preferences about what to eat, what sport to play, how to dress, how to talk, and how to appear and behave in a way that is "cool". All this has contributed to increasing the generation gap between parents and elders of our community and our youth. It has a negative impact on the future of Pakistan. This very impact raises a question that why it is so? And the straight answer to this question is that our cultural, social, ethical and moral activities are being deviated and distracted from the originality. Pakistan’s political and social scenarios are the imperative features through which are youth is getting and perceiving a negative image of Pakistan. It is a most important job of a society to teach, coach and guide the youth at their level. Pakistani society should portray a positive and optimistic picture in order to have better fresh verdict from young minds. It is the foremost duty of our nation to guide and support our youth. In today’s world, Youth in Pakistan face number of issues, challenges and opportunities in their way to work. Lack of interest in cultural, political and social activities due to the negatively portrayed picture is the most important issue. Another challenge is to enter a job market of Pakistan which is not very strong and well-built. Early start to work, failing to enter the labor market and difficulties in moving across the market is again a problem for them. These problems and issues misleading our youth and taking the pride of their county’s name away from them. It is the utmost need and desire of today’s society to learn and protect the dignity, unity and decorum of young minds. This is the only way to bring our lost identity back and revival through promoting and supporting our youth. A German philosopher beautifully stated that: “The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently”.
